Looking out for a new talented horse

Unexpectedly my super Ravel son was sold to an American lady. I was very sad to loose this amazing talent, but there is also good news: 3 people want to invest in a very talented 5 or 6 year old prospect for me. We all want to keep the horse in our posession for a coupke of years, I am thrilled!!

About a week ago I was interviewed by "de Paardenkrant" about my career. "De Paardenkrant" now exists 20 years and therefor they interviewed the riders who were successful 20 years ago. In 1989 I won a gold medal at the European Championships and it was fun to talk about that time...

Clinics in the United States

On May the 12th I will leave to visit the United States for a clinic. I will travel to a little village close by Seattle.

For 4 days I will teach about 20 people and I am looking forward to it!

New horse for Barbara Koot

Since january 2009 I am training a 5-year old horse for Tim Coomans. His father is Ravel, Tim is the former owner of Ravel. Ravel just won the World Cup in Las Vegas and this Ravel- offspring shows a lot of similarity with his father. I feel honoured that I can train this beautiful and big horse, he has a lot of talent!

The planning is to show him in 2010 and hopefully I will compete on international level in 2011.

Nominated

In december 2007 Mr. Frans Berings called to tell me that I was nominated for the Ernest van Loon Award 2008! I feel verry honoured to be one of the nominees and this is a motivation for me to continue what I am doing. Jeroen Dubbeldan, the Olympic Champion in jumping, has won the award and Imke Bartels, the number 2 of the European Championships, was second. This award is about training your horse without tension, with understanding and as a result a horse that is completely light in the forehand, athletic in the body and happy in his mind.
